Once you have been picked up right from your hotel, the tour will start at 09:30 am with the local tour guide’s visit to the most important place in the Cappadocia Region.
Your first destination is the Zelve Open Air Museum, an ancient monastic complex where you’ll explore cave dwellings, monasteries, and intricately decorated frescoes. The labyrinthine paths and tunnels connecting three valleys offer a glimpse into the lives of early Christians who sought refuge here. Next, we head to Pasabaglari, also known as Monks Valley, renowned for its striking mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys. From there, you journey to Devrent Valley, also called ‘Imagination Valley’, where rock formations take on whimsical shapes resembling animals and objects. This surreal landscape invites you to let your imagination run wild as you identify camels, seals, and other fantastical shapes.
We will continue with the local pottery workshop in Avanos. Known for its ancient pottery-making traditions, Avanos offers you the chance to see skilled artisans at work. After experiencing a pottery workshop, we will drive you to ‘Ozkonak Underground City’. You explore the complex network of tunnels, living quarters, and defense mechanisms that once provided refuge to early Christians. The ingenuity of these subterranean settlements never fails to impress.
Next, we drive to Uchisar Castle, the highest point in Cappadocia. While you don’t enter the castle, the stop offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and fairy chimneys.
The final stop of your tour is Love Valley, famous for its phallic-shaped rock formations. A leisurely walk through the valley reveals its unique scenery and the local legends associated with the area.
This beautiful day will end around 5 pm and then your journey to your hotel will start. We will drop you off at your hotel.
