Day 1

Cappadocia Red Tour

Meal: Lunch

09:45 am ─ We pick you up from your hotel in Cappadocia (Goreme, Uchisar, Avanos, Urgup, etc.). The tour starts with the magical rock formations of the North.

Devrent Valley (Imagination Valley) is a world of pink rocks naturally shaped like animals. It’s famous for the camel rock and other whimsical shapes.
Pasabag (Monks Valley) is the best place to see the multi-headed fairy chimneys. You can walk amongst these giant pillars where monks once lived in seclusion.
Avanos Pottery Workshop takes you to the heart of local art. You will watch a master potter create a piece on a kick-wheel using clay from the Red River.
Lunch Break involves a tasty buffet or set menu at a local restaurant.
Zelve Open Air Museum is the most famous site in the region. It is a complex of rock-cut churches and monasteries with beautiful frescoes from the 10th-12th centuries.
Uchisar Castle (Panorama) is our final stop. We pause at the foot of this massive rock fortress for a stunning panoramic photo of Cappadocia.

09:30 am ─ We pick you up from your hotel again. Today, we head to the South for a day of nature and underground history.

Esentepe Panorama offers a breathtaking view of Goreme town and the pigeon valley. It is the perfect spot to start the day.
Derinkuyu or Kaymakli Underground City is a mind-blowing experience. You will descend floors deep into the earth to see how thousands of people hid from enemies in ancient times.
Ihlara Valley is a lush, green canyon. We will take a pleasant walk (approx 3-4 km) along the Melendiz River, surrounded by cliffs and nature.
Belisirma Village is located inside the canyon. We will enjoy lunch here at a riverside restaurant.
Selime Monastery is the largest rock-cut monastery in the region, with cathedral-sized rooms carved into the mountain.
Pigeon Valley is a final panoramic stop to see the famous pigeon houses carved into the rocks.

18:00 ─ Tour ends.
We drop you back at your hotel.

Hot in July but worth it. The underground city is cool inside! Make sure you bring water and a hat for the outdoor parts. The Red & Green combo covers 90% of what you need to see in Cappadocia.

Absolutely loved it. The Red tour day was my favorite because of the Pasabag valley. The mushroom shaped rocks are iconic. The Green tour was interesting for the history. Good balance.

The hike in Ihlara is about 3-4 km, quite flat and easy. It was nice to be in nature. The rest of the tours are mostly visiting sites. I think this combo is the best way to see the region efficiently.
