Cappadocia Yellow Tour (South Valleys)
Meal: Breakfast and Lunch
09:30 am ─ After breakfast, we pick you up for the Cappadocia Yellow Tour. Today, we venture into the colorful valleys and the underground world.
- Red Valley & Rose Valley – These two connecting valleys are famous for their vibrant red and pink hues that change with the sunlight. We will take a scenic walk among the vineyards and apricot trees, discovering hidden rock-cut churches adorned with ancient frescoes.
- Cavusin Village – We visit this fascinating old Greek village where houses were carved directly into a massive cliff face. Although the rock houses were abandoned due to erosion, the Church of St. John the Baptist remains a significant historical site to see.
- Lunch Break – Enjoy a relaxing lunch break at a traditional restaurant.
- Pigeon Valley – This valley is named after the thousands of pigeon houses carved into the soft volcanic cliffs. In the past, locals used pigeon manure as fertilizer, and these intricate carvings are a unique feature of the Cappadocia landscape.
- Underground City – The highlight of the day is descending into a mysterious underground city. You will explore the subterranean tunnels, storage rooms, and ventilation shafts built by early civilizations to protect themselves from enemy raids.
