Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Fly from Istanbul to Izmir & Ephesus Guided Tour

Early in the morning, we pick you up from your hotel in Istanbul and transfer you to the airport for your flight to Izmir. The pick-up time depends on your flight schedule and will be informed to you in advance.

Morning flight from Istanbul to Izmir – You take a morning flight from Istanbul (IST or SAW) to Izmir (ADB).
Exact departure and arrival times, airline and airport choices depend on availability and will be confirmed before ticketing.

Upon arrival in Izmir, our local team meets you at the airport and transfers you to the Ephesus region (around Selçuk or Kuşadası) to join your full-day Ephesus Turkey tour.

  • Ephesus Ancient City – Walk through one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean. See marble streets, public baths, fountains and city squares as your guide explains daily life in Roman times on this classic Turkey tour package.
  • Library of Celsus – Admire the iconic two-story facade of the library, one of the symbols of Ephesus. Your guide tells you how it functioned as a center of culture and knowledge in the Roman Empire.
  • Great Theatre – Visit the large amphitheater that once held up to 25,000 people. From the top of the seats you enjoy a wide view over the ancient city and hear stories about performances, politics and early Christian history.
  • House of Virgin Mary – A peaceful pilgrimage site on the hills above Ephesus, believed by many to be the last home of Mary. It is a quiet place to light a candle, make a wish and enjoy the green surroundings.
  • Isa Bey Mosque (exterior visit) – See one of the oldest and finest examples of Seljuk architecture in the region. The mosque combines stonework, calligraphy and a calm courtyard atmosphere.
  • Temple of Artemis (ruins) – Stop at the remains of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Only a few columns survive, but with your guide you imagine the size and importance of this temple in ancient times.

During the tour you enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you can taste simple Turkish dishes and relax before continuing your tour Cappadocia Pamukkale Ephesus route.

At the end of the tour, we transfer you to your hotel in the Ephesus area (Selçuk or Kuşadası). Check-in and free time to rest, walk around the town or enjoy dinner on your own. Overnight in the Ephesus region.

The guide in Pamukkale was so sweet. She took photos of me and my husband since we are bad at selfies. The thermal pool is a must try.

Good grief this was a good trip. The weather in December was cold but sunny. Less crowds than summer which was a huge plus. We had Ephesus almost to ourselves.

Also, the lunch place in Pamukkale had the best baklava I tasted on the whole trip. Not too sweet, just perfect. I wish I could ship some home!

I was too tired to do the balloon ride but the others said it was great. Watching them from the hotel terrace was also amazing and free! Breakfast was good.

Good investment of time and money. Turkey is cheaper than other european destinations but offers just as much history. The hotels were 4 star quality.
