Tour Itinerary
~09:45 – Hotel pick-up – We pick you up from your hotel in Göreme, Çavuşin, Ürgüp, Uçhisar, Avanos or other central Cappadocia areas around 09:45. Exact pick-up time may change slightly by season and will be confirmed one day before your Cappadocia Yellow Tour.
Meet your guide and drive to the valleys – After you meet your English-speaking guide, you drive by comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle towards the starting point of the walking route. On the way, your guide will give a short introduction to the day and to the unique volcanic landscape of Cappadocia.
Visiting Sights on Cappadocia Yellow Tour
- Red Valley – Red Valley is famous for its soft red and orange rock walls, narrow paths and small rock-cut churches. Here you enjoy an easy walk among fairy chimneys and natural tunnels while your guide explains how the stone was shaped by wind and rain. It is one of the best places in Cappadocia for sunset views, but it is also very beautiful and quiet during the day.
- Rose Valley (Güllüdere Valley) – Next, you continue to the nearby Rose (Güllüdere) Valley, named after the soft pink colors that appear on the rocks at certain times of the day. You walk along simple tracks, pass by cave rooms and churches and enjoy wide views over the Cappadocia landscape. Your guide may show you simple frescoes in some of the old churches and explain how people once worshipped here.
- Çavuşin Village – Çavuşin is one of the oldest villages in Cappadocia, with a large rock hill filled with old cave houses and churches. You see the mix of traditional village life and rock architecture, and you have time to walk around the main square and small streets. It is a good place to understand how people moved from cave houses into modern stone houses over time.
- Pigeon Valley – At Pigeon Valley, you stop at a panoramic viewpoint that looks over a long valley filled with small pigeon houses carved into the cliffs. In the past, locals used these pigeon houses for natural fertilizer in their fields and vineyards. Today, the valley offers some of the most classic Cappadocia views, with Uçhisar Castle in the distance and fairy chimneys all around.
- Underground city – Later in the day, you visit one of Cappadocia’s famous underground cities. The exact underground city can change depending on the date and local conditions, but each one offers a similar experience: narrow tunnels, air shafts, storage rooms, kitchens and simple churches cut into the rock. Your guide explains how early Christians and local people used these multi-level cities as safe shelters during dangerous times.
Lunch at a local restaurant – Around midday, you enjoy a tasty lunch at a local restaurant, usually with a set menu including soup, main dish and salad. Lunch is included in the tour price; you only pay extra for drinks if you order them.
Light hiking and photo breaks – The Cappadocia Yellow Tour includes relaxed walking sections in the valleys, with many chances to stop for photos and to enjoy the silence of nature. The paths are mostly easy, but some parts can be uneven or slightly sloped, so comfortable walking shoes are important.
Guided commentary and free time – At each stop, your guide shares stories about the history, geology and culture of Cappadocia in simple, clear English. There is also time for you to walk on your own, sit for a while, take photos and feel the atmosphere of each valley and village.
~17:00 – Return to your hotel – At the end of this full-day Cappadocia hiking and valleys tour, you are dropped back at your hotel around 17:00. Exact return time can change slightly with traffic, group speed and season, but you will return with a deeper understanding of the valleys and underground life of Cappadocia.

Customer Reviews
This was the best day. The hike was incredible. The guide was so fun. We laughed all day. The landscape is just... wow. No words. You have to see it. And the lunch was surprisingly delicious!
I'm 72 and was worried this would be too much, but it was perfect. The guide was very patient. The walk is mostly downhill or flat. The views are worth every step. I felt very accomplished.
A great way to escape the crowds. The bus tours stop at the top, but we got to walk *through* the valleys. It was so peaceful. The guide was friendly. Bring water and sunscreen, there isn't much shade!
This tour was fantastic. Our guide (Burak) was the best. He knew all the best photo spots. The hike was about 3 hours total but with many stops. Very manageable. The scenery is 10/10.
We did the hiking tour in winter. It was magical with a light dusting of snow. We were the only ones there! The guide was great. The trail was easy to walk. Dress warm! A very special experience.
