A brilliant seven days, just plan to be tired with the long west to central drives. Gallipoli and Ephesus were the highlights, and Cappadocia the perfect finish. Worth every hour for the span of it.

This is the grand sweep of Turkey in seven days, west to centre. The Gallipoli memorials, the wooden horse at Troy, the Library of Celsus at Ephesus, the white terraces of Pamukkale, the Mevlana shrine at Konya, and the north and south of Cappadocia. The driving is considerable, but every day earns its place and the landscapes and history are endlessly varied. Our guide was excellent across all of it, and we came home feeling we had truly seen the country.
